While Laura was in London in December 2022, she had the opportunity to discover the scope of street art abounding in this city known for its art.
Ranging from collages, graffiti, Banksy frescoes to mushroom-shaped sculptures by artist Christiaan Nagel, the student was able to discover a multitude of artists and works just by strolling through the streets of the capital.
And it was during a guided tour to learn more about street art that a detail really struck her and she decided to take out her camera to take a single shot; here it is:
In the middle of the colorful decor offered by this tunnel, there was a mattress, a nightstand, clothes and a person sleeping peacefully. There is nothing abnormal about this scene when it takes place in a room, but in the street it is a different story.
The indifference of the people around her only made what the photographer felt when she found herself faced with this spectacle.
This is why, when it was necessary to select a photo from her stay to describe London, it was this photo that Laura chose. Enough to keep in mind a beautiful image of this city where many people dream of living there.
Despite everything, it is with pleasure that Laura would like to go to London again. With a film camera in hand, one could imagine her in the shoes of Vivian Maier, always looking for the most eccentric character to photograph.
